«Founder of mathematical culture of ours people» - so the academician Michael Kravchuk has termed Volodymyra Levyc'kogo. Also had on this right, as V.Levyc'kyj raised in Galychyni skysphere of mathematical culture on the Ukrainian ground. He first has written only professional paper after mathematician on the Ukrainian language, was the invariable editor of the first Ukrainian scientific magazine on natural sciences, first has prepared and has published materials to the Ukrainian nomenclature after mathematician, physics, chemistries, first has rallied around of itself of mathematicians-ukrainians for scientific operation... And in many businesses and undertakings, bound with development and derivation of the Ukrainian people, were accepted immediate involvement by the professor V.Levyc'kyj...
Родился Volodymyr Levyc'kyj in Ternopoli per the last day of 1872y. in aged priestly to monogynopaedium. The great-grandfather - father Georgyj, close relative сardinal Michael Levyc'kyj (*M. Levyc'kyj (1774-1858 yy.)-Galichina's Ukrainian church and public figure, after restoring Galich metropolitan - Lvov metropolitan (1816-185Г yy.).) , has arrived to Galichina in the second half XVIII an item from Ukraine. The grandfather of V.Levyc'kyj - Stefan also was the priest, and already father - Yosyf Levyc'kyj - has completed legal faculty of the Lvov university, worked Austrian lawyer, became gofrat at the highest tribunal in Vienna. In a reject with Serafyma Ilevych for was four sons: the Roman, Marjan, Volodymyr and Julian. All of them have completed the Lvov university. The Roman was the lawyer, Marjan has died in a young blepharon, Julian became the historian, in intermilitary time become director in the Ukrainian grammar school of Ternopil'.
When Volodymyr five years have passed, the mother has died. Then the monogynopaedium Levyc'kies moves in Zolochev. There in and a half of years Volodymyr is routed to the first class of four-years(four-summer) national school so-called «shtuby». In 1882y. he enters to Zolochiv grammar school, in which one ends four classes. In Zolochiv to an on - neighbourhood with Levyckies the known Ukrainian patriots lived the father Ezers'kyj and adviser Rozhankovs'kyj with the wife Shuhevychevna -. They at home talked on the Ukrainian language, had the Ukrainian magazines and books. In summer 1889. Levyc'kies move to L'viv, Volodymyr is written to a Polish grammar school of Franc Yosyf, which one is ended with distinction in 1890 by , and enters the Lvov university. In university V.Levyc'kyj listens to the lectures U.Puzyny, O.Fabiana, B.Radzyshevs'kogo after mathematician and physics. Prof. U.Puzyna, the former schoolboy ingenious K.T.V.Veershtrassa, worked with the students and after the lectures, tendering them the new literature and miscellaneous subjects for scientific operation. V.Levyc'kyj wrote in the memoirs: «To him I give thanks to that knowledge of mathematics, which one I have till now: due to him I have learnt all modern theories and methods, due to him I was typed delights to operation and hunting to independent experences» (** There.) . After the termination of university V.Levyc'kyj listens course of a group theory of Lie and probability theory in young, but already known then senior lecturer of polyengineering K.Zhoravs'kogo, in due course professors Krakow university
In this time he much works, sits up above mathematics far for midnight. For four grade levels V.Levyc'kyj had time to re-read main scientific operations of A.Puankare, history of mathematics Y.Kantora in 3 volumes. Then he writes the first original operation «О Symmetric expressions costs of functions mod m», which one has published on the Polish language in the collection «Prace matematyczno-fizyczno», t. VI (in translation by P.Ogonovs'kyj has quitted in «Notes of NTSh», t. IV, 1894 y).. Then V.Levyc'kyj shares in congress of the Polish naturalists and mathematicians in L'viv, where acquaints with produced mathematician S.Dikstayn from Warsaw, with which one later, as with the editor and publisher, him joined of lengthy year frendship

V.Levyc'kyj Did not stand in the side and from public life, from the first grade level at university he enters to the Academic brotherhood, uniform by then companies of the Ukrainian students. They consist of two parts (partial and higher mathematics) and covered about two thousand terms. As well as the writer envisioned, the dictionary was not complete. Материалы Mathematical nomenclature В.Levyc'kogo become the basis for creation of the following terminological dictionaries and have facilitated of writing of the new tutorials and professional papers. Besides he has emited in four parts «Материалы To physical терминологии» and «Набросок Chemical терминологии». В 1899 the is organized национально-democratic party (М.Грушевский, V.Levyc'kyj, В.Охримович, Д.Савчак, И.Франко). One of items of practical policy of a fresh consignment was creation of the Ukrainian university in L'viv. Due to diligence О.Барвинского for needs(requirements) of this university the State grant and holiday in centres of science was intended to several украинцам. So on a bottom(basis) of the functionly algebraic approach it(he) studied the theory of analytical invariants of the differential equations and their group properties. These operations become the powerful contribution to a general theory of integration in quadratures, which one actively explicated in Europe the French and german school in connection with a problem of Riemann. Let's mark, that the problem of Riemann was successfully solvable only in 1980 group of Japanese mathematicians under a manual проф. Мико Сато. science descends to the speaker of party solutions, does not spend through it of the scientific

After 1934 , through an aggravation of symptoms of health, he goes from a manual NTSh and becomes in the chapter of a mathematical natural doctoral section. V.Levyc'kyj was the editor «Сборника» from first ( 1897 ) and up to last, 32 volumes (1939 y.).
С 1924 the section began to produce a magazine «Sitzungberichte», in which one the foreign languages print(published) the message on activity of a section and short mathematical papers like ours modern «Докладов Academies Наук». Due to this issuing of a section, which one was delivered in exchange, the library NTSh gained from above 100 respectable magazines on natural sciences from all world. Dr. V.Levyc'kyj was also to stationary values the employee амстердамского «Revue semstrielle des publikations masematiques», in which one abstracted all issuings Ukrainian языком
V.Levyc'kyj The shares in creation of a miscellaneous kind of pedagogical companies, in particular(personally) in organized in 1927 . Company of the adherents of derivation in one @. L'viv, in which one was the chairman of a physical and mathematical section, in organization and holding of six congresses of the Ukrainian naturalists, engineers and doctors. Under his(its) edition and in his(its) translations into the Ukrainian language there were many operations of the miscellaneous foreign writers. Edited by it(him) «Сборник» enabled to appear before scientific community in many respects(much) young исследователям.
В Thirtieth years In. Левицький edits mathematical and physical materials for the Ukrainian common encyclopedia. Then produces some popular booklets in библиотечке «Самообразование», dedicated history of science, astronomy, физике.
Из October 1939 . V.Levyc'kyj the - at the Lvov state university by him(it) works at first in новообразованном the Lvov teacher's college, and with 1940 . 14 July, 1956 В.Levyc'kogo did not become. In the newspaper некролог and has not appeared. And in due course not often mentioned about produced галицком mathematician, as V.Levyc'kyj stood on state positions. He perceived, that for build-up of independent Ukraine it is necessary to have the experts in all fields of knowledge, and in particular from environmental study. Due to outcomes of the operation V.Levyc'kyj for ever remain in a history of the Ukrainian culture as founder of mathematical culture of our people.
