 Myron Onufrijovych was born
21 may 1889 y.
in Mogyl'nycja village of Terebovlja region of Ternopil' domain in family of village
prelate. Brought Перемишлянську
off gymnasia and in 1907 y. treated to Viennese university,
afterwards translated to Lviv. 24 march 1927 y. M.O.
Zaryc'kyj elect by as actual Science T.G.Shevchenko name Society member and from then it becomes by active collaborator
of his mathematically-natural-medical section. In 25-th "Collection" volume of this section printed first
his labour "Establishment Method of kind arrangement in theory of multitudes". For labour "Some
basic regulation analysis notions from point of view of logic algebra ", Lviv university 25 october 1930 y. condemned to M.O. Zaryc'kyj learned philosophy doctor
degree.Into this time Myron Onufrijovych chummed
up with remarkable polish mathematicians G.Stejngauz, S.Banah, V. Stozhenko, S.Mazur, which worked in Lviv, was
adopted to department of polish mathematical society. To 1939 y. Zaryc'kyj printed for about 20 scientific labour in Lviv and foreign editions and in this period formed
as a serious mathematician with philosophy gradient.Work in Lviv university Myron Onufrijevych
combined with reading of lectures in Львівському
polytechnic institute (1944-1946 yy.) and in newcreated Uzhgorod university (1950-1955
yy.), lending a big help in organization of mathematical chairs of this university. In
1942-1944 yy. M.O.Zaryc'kyj lectured on higher mathematics
on professional technical courses, organized on the basis of Lviv politehnik.Myron Onufrijevych was great at mathematics
history, especially ancient, read the lectures courses from mathematics history in Lviv university, printed a
little of labour history of exact sciences. Here belong "Hrestomatia of greek mathematics" (polish, 1936 y.), in which the small fragments contained from Evklide works,
Arhimed, Apolonij Pergijskyj, Klavdij Ptolomej and Diofant in greek original and latin translation.Scientific interests of Zaryc'kyj envelop,
chiefly, a multitudes theory with logic algebra and function theory of actual variable. Also M.O. Zaryc'kyj attended
to theory of measurable multitudes transformations. Scientific hunt down Zaryc'kyj stood on front edge of world
science.Science was for M.O. Zaryc'kyj by bread vital,
need and enjoyment, labour and rest. On science it looked in first turn as on truth and beauty, that brings man
on higher rung of her spiritual development. Not for nothing Myron Onufrijovych named "by formulas poet".M.O. Zaryc'kyj stood clear from life 19 august 1961 y. It buried on Lychaki's churchyards. Memory about
it still a long time will light road to young science enthusiasts. |
